Few high elevation mountain communities offer a riding experience as varied as Balsam Mountain Preserve.
Horseback riding amenities at Balsam features club horses perfectly suited for private lessons and trail riding. Perfect for exercising horses, the riding arena can also be used to help young or new riders to grow comfortable in the saddle. The stable also offers a comfortable seating area with rocking chairs and great views of the Plott Balsam mountain range.
Ready to hit the trails? Guided rides are available on the Preserve’s extensive groomed trail system of over 34 miles. For the more adventurous rider, the Preserve’s trail system connects to the Nantahala National Forest, offering 500,000 acres of unspoiled riding habitat.
