Balsam Mountain Preserve

Golf Practice Park

Both Links Magazine and Travel + Leisure Golf Magazine have recognized Balsam Mountain Preserve as one of the top private golf communities in the state of North Carolina.  The quality of the practice park is one of the reasons for this prestigious recognition.

practice_park_mg.jpgThe Balsam Mountain Preserve practice park features ample teeing areas, a short game area, and a large practice putting green.  The park boasts approximately 30,000 square feet of bentgrass teeing area spread over three levels of tees.  With a target fairway and three different target greens, golfers have the ability to practice a variety of shots from different distances.  Also, the design of the practice range allows the golfer to visually recreate a variety of shots they may face during a round.

The short game complex features a chipping/pitching green and practice bunker providing golfers with ample area to practice the most important, stroke-saving part of the game.  The short game complex incorporates a fairway approach area, approximately forty yards long, that allows golfers to fine-tune their wedge play.  The 6,000 square foot putting green provides all golfers with adequate individual space and the ability to practice both long and short putts with a variety of undulations.  Balsam Mountain Preserve's practice complex is one that is superior to most practice areas found at true mountain golf courses.
